Well, it's here! The two year mark.
I can't believe it's been 2 years since I started my locs. I
love them more and more. The freedom is indescribable. I've
gone through a lot of changes with my locs. For one, I colored
them black. I just grewweary of the two-toned colors and in
the past, my hair STAYED black. I missed that. I DO have to
get another kit to do the back because I was hard-headed and
instead of buying two, I bought one and began to run out when
I got to the rear of my head! So, I must purchase another to
finish the job. But I do love the deep, rich color of my darker
locs!
I notice that lately, my locs have
been "crawling" a lot after shampooing. I mean, it's
like VELCRO or something the way they stick together! But they
are less fuzzier (still fuzzy, just less) than they were and
they are nice and solid and seem to be starting to condense.
I'm sure by next year, they should be considered to be fully
mature (I guess!)
I've combined some of my locs because
I wanted them a little larger than they were. Not only that,
but I wanted the sizes a little more uniform. Before, I had
many varying sizes; the largest being about the size of a pencil.
So, I have combined most of the smaller ones so as they grow
out, the locs will be more uniform in size.
These
last shots (the two immediately above and the one below) are
of my hair after having freshly tightened and shampooed my hair.
I did this to show how the water weighs the locs down, showing
more of the actual length before it draws back up when dry.
