9 months

Nine Months Locked...January 2002

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! It's January 2002 and I'm at month 9 of my locking journey! I am really, really, REALLY loving my locs! I get a lot of compliments, but some folks still wanna hate. That's all good, though because in another year when my hair is touching or past my shoulders...well...we'll see what the haters are saying THEN!



	Can you BELIEVE that not more than 7 months ago this loc that I'm pulling down was a SHAVEN area? I used to keep my nape tapered really close when my hair was shorter and now look...the hair comes to the bottom of my neck when stretched! This was NOT when I wore a relaxer...this area STAYED short (broken off!) I LOVE my locs!!!

A Little Change of Pace...

Just to show you the versatility of locs and MY personal creativity...I posted a few pics of an updo I did last month. I did small flat twists in the front and secured with rubber bands. Then, I did like four large flat twists going up the back, secured with rubber bands.

I then pinned the sides and just shaped and formed and fluffed the crown area and added some beads for decoration. I thought it was cute...how 'bout you?

Sometimes I'm asked if I miss doing twist-outs and stuff on my loose hair...take a look at this twist-out done with my locs! I like...I like!
