3 Months Locked... July 2001

This is now month three of my lock journey and it’s going well.  This month is special because not only has it now been 3 months since I started locking, but this marks my 30th birthday!

I am experiencing some very fuzzy days meaning, my hair has been looking a lot fuzzier than previously.  I know that this is normal and I don’t mind it one bit.  I mean, sometimes it bothers me a little and then I end up grabbing some Tunde’s Natty Dread Cream, Carol’s Daughter Mimosa Hair Honey, or sometimes just plain ole water and I start twirling my locks from midway to the ends.

But, this doesn’t occur very often as I have found out that no matter how much twirling, twisting, or adding of product to the hair, there is still going to be some fuzziness.  It’s just a part of the process so I’ve learned to accept it and go on.

More of them have started to lock and it’s starting at the base.  I’ve heard some people say that the hair starts locking from the ends and go up and I’ve heard others say that it starts from near the base.  I think it depends on your hair.  I now have 3 on my right side that have started locking; 2 on the left side and 3 in the top/back of my head that have started matting...and that's exactly what I want!

I don't recall the last time I rolled them up on rods.  I just spritz and go!

You can see here how fuzzy it looks when I just wash and do nothing to it as far as twisting, twirling or whatever...but it's ALL good! :-)

    Styled Locks

Well, I normally don't do much styling of my locks by way of rolling them up or anything, but here I decided to set them on perm rods with just a spritzing of water for a little change of pace.
